This little market with compact aisles has a lot. Great local food shop with some limited non food items. Staff at times hard to find, but kind and quick to help. Suprised at how much they had available and such good quality.

I love this store! Not too big, not too small, excellent butcher shop. Specialty local dairy and bakery products. Interesting selection of imported British and Asian foods. Pricing along the lines of andronico's or whole foods. Friendly staff. Not the zoo you'll find at Trader Joe's or Safeway. You are very likely to run into someone from the East End neighborhood.

Why do I shop here? 2-inch pork chops, regular-sized onions, an amazing selection of beer from around the world, the best brand of hot dogs I've tasted. If I'm lucky they have Jelly Babies from England. Tinned haggis for my friend in Texas. Pretzel buns for my dogs. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the butcher shop is the best.

The butchers are THE butchers. If I need a nice cut of meat for a dinner party this is the Market I visit. I also go here for those quick pick up a few things. It's not as crowded and has a really good selection of the most important items: meat, beer, ice cream, produce, cheese (No specific order). A lot of organic and locally sourced options. My kids love that they usually have fruit samples. Great Upper End Neighborhood Market.

I love this grocery store. It's small but manages to stock all the right things. Excellent beer and spirits selection. The butcher's are really helpful and friendly serving great BBQ outside on the weekends.

What an awesome find! Loved this retro styled market. The selection was abundant, the food choices were unique and original...I found many things there I've never seen anywhere, and the produce was all very fresh. I bought some nectarines and they we're perfectly sweet and delicious. All the staff were exceptionally nice as well! Really great market!

What a wonderful market! We have been visiting Alameda for the past 3 weeks and have been fortunate that Encinal Market is only a block away. The butcher section is fantastic. Great selection. Meat is high quality and the butchers are friendly and knowledgeable. It feels like a small town market. There is a nice enough selection of wine. Available stock can be a challenge. Of course, it is overall pricier than other local super markets, but still comparably reasonable for a small market and some things are less expensive. I paid only $4.99 one day for ground beef.

Encinal Market is a treasure. East to park, quick in and out, and they have everything . Great produce, all sorts of cheeses and gourmet foods, and a superb butcher shop. It’s not overwhelming like a modern supermarket and it’s really great for smaller households because smaller portion items are available.

Found the market to be be a good fit for the neighborhood. Lots of organic items . I did go their looking for a plant based milk by Three Trees called Black Sesame Almond Milk. I was directed to them by the Three Trees website but unfortunately they did not have it in stock. Nice store though

Super organized and the vegetables are very clean! I found everything I was looking for and when I couldn’t I asked a really nice employee. Parking was easy to find! They have a small parking lot that leads to a bigger one! All the employees were smiley and a couple asked if I needed help! I love supporting small independent businesses so this was a 5 star for me!
